That's weird. When I play the CPU almost never swings at the first pitch, even if it's right down the middle. They usually don't swing until they've got 2 strikes on 'em.

I'm with this guy to an extent... I don't have a problem with them swinging at too many 1st pitches... However, I'm not with him when he said they don't swing unti 2 strikes are on them. Normally I like to throw a ball just low and outside, see if they chase... if they don't the next one catches that inside corner and they normally won't swing at it.

That's all an effect based on your Batting Eye Strikes slider. I've found a decent mix with the setting at 58. See if that works for you....

i keep the BE(s) slider at about 35-40. i also put the BE(b) at about 90 so you really have to work at setting them up to swing at bad pitches.
The CPU is rather patient with these settings. you need to keep the BA slider near 40 or you will K too many batters
