    best game so far

I am currently 7-22 with my expansion Austin Pirranahs...team composed entirely (majors/both minors) with friends/family names using expansion draft/edit roster feature.

I am simming the first 2or3 games in each series and playing the last to make things faster. In game 3 at Detroit, it was a scoreless pitchers duel going into the eighth inning. Only 5 hits for each team. Sparks was throwing his knuckler for the Tigers and giving my guys all kinds of trouble. In the top of the eighth the Tigers get a run across on a double play which I THOUGHT I HAD! but runner at first was safe...ouch! Then, top of the ninth with a new Tigers pitcher on...he walks the first two batters! Wow. A sac fly moves em to 2nd/3rd. Then, my leadoff hitter (who was player of the game, going 4 for 4). hits one down the right field line to score the runner from third and tie it up, 1-1. Now runners on 3rd and 1st. I steal 2nd. Batter walked again. Bases Loaded, which brings a pitching change from the Tigers. First batter faced; yours truly and I am walked also on 5 pitches....WALKS IN THE GO AHEAD RUN! 2-1. Detroit finally retires the side..and has one more chance. I make a pitching change to LH Smith and my Pirranahs take em out 1-2-3 to end the game.

ALSO, on positive note; my bullpen makes the weekly (last 10 game) TWIB's WHOS HOT by posting a 1.66 bullpen ERA. Also, I have two players in the running for AL rookie of the year. Great game and although I have WSB2k3, I find more and more that ASB2004 is spending the majority of time in the ol XBOX! ENJOY!

Wow, good post! I'm thinking of starting an expansion team myself, but right now I'm in a Yankees franchise and its taking up much of my time. I find myself drawing walks just like yourself but with the Yankees walks don't really matter when there's good hitting up and down the lineup.

        Anyways, good post!

Thanks fellas..I had started a Rangers franchise originally, but much like the real Rangers, it frustrated me!

I truly have enjoyed this aspect of ASB2004. As I said in original post, I have WSB2K3, and even though the graphics are top notch and it is a good game, I play ASB much more. I tried renaming players there, but the announcer still says the original player names when they get up to bat; since you rename players already on a MLB team. No expansion.

My record is 22-9 so far - i just restarted the franchise since the regular season started. I had another franchise goin and I wasn't doing to well because I would play only one game a series and I would lose quite often. I think my record was 11-10 at one point and the Yankees were 3rd in the division.

I had to delete that franchise because I don't have enough space on my PS2 memory card and I wanted to have accurate rosters in time for the real regular season. In this franchise I play about 75% of the games and I've had success. I haven't been playing much lately though because of the NBA Playoffs.

I also have been quite dominant as of late because the hitting is so good up and down the lineup. And not to mention the pitching's been spectacular too. My ERAs are low and the hitting is excellent. I think if I become as dominant as you, I'll have to change my batting cursor from normal to zone for more realistic results. I'll let u know later on how I'm doin.
