    How good is Clayton Kershaw?

He just pitched one hell of a game last night: 13 SO, 1 ER in 7 innings with an ERA of 1.50. Is he the glimmer of hope that the Dodgers so desperately need?

Yes. He has the stuff to be the ace of our team for a long time. He's only 21, and he's only going to get better with every start. Watch out MLB, Kersh and Billingsley are going to do some damage when they hit their prime. BUT, lets not make a big deal of his performance last night. You could make a case that the midgets line up is just bad. It's pretty neat that he's being used in the same sentence as Fernano Valenzuela after last night though.

A 93-95 MPH fastball, a plus curveball and rapidly improving changeup. Reminds me a lot of Scott Kazmir.
I think he could get 130-150 K's this year. Over 10 wins.

Kershaw has the ability to be a legit ace. He's got some nasty stuff.

          He's the real deal...

Still the best lefty in the NL resides in Philly.

When a Phillie's fan says he's the real deal, he's the real deal.

              That's very very debatable.

LOL. True. But Philly fans never give players from other teams any praise. They were pretty brutal when the Dodgers played the Phills in the playoffs last year. So it does say a little something.

Beyond that. Its a complete fallacy.
Johan Santana is the best lefty in the NL....and that is not debatable...it is also not me being a homer.
Theres only one pitcher in the MLB whos on Santanas level and thats Roy Halladay but hes an AL pitcher and a righty so thats another story.

On the subject of Kershaw hes good enough that the Dodgers wont regret not taking Lincecum...I personally think theyll have comparable careers in the end.

                    He's Decent.

If he can string together a nice season this year I'll say he's 100% legit.

And he's not even the best lefty in his division.

Kershaw is a good young arm, but striking out 13 Giants is no big whup.

On my fantasy team I am going to leave one pitcher spot open for whoever is facing the Giants. Over the weekend we scored 4 runs, 4. Imagine the pressure on our staff to throw shutouts and no hitters.
