    Give this a try guys

I'm playing a franchise with the Atlanat braves. I like to have close scoring games with alot of suspense. So when I play I only control my starting pitchers. i let the computer do all the hitting and all the bullpen pitching. Its rather awesome. I can usually get 6or7 good innings out of my starters and then turn it over to the bullpen. Thats when the fun begins. Its like you get to know the players that the computer controls. Like ive learned not to let Mike Venafro pitch to more than one lefty per outing. Dont knock this playing style until you've tried it. Its the best ASB expierence i've had. I've been playing ASB since N64.

Thanks and please post comments and suggestions.

Also while pitching i do not use the pitch indicator and cut vibration off, and do not look at the batters hot and cold spots. This results in more walks.

    Tanks again.

I hate the Braves. I started an interleague series with them last nite with my Rangers. I only had 1 hit through 8 innings, a solo shot by Herbert Perry. I had a chance to tie in the 9th but I couldn't get it done. I lost 2-1. They got those two runs on Herb Perry error in the 2nd inning. My pitcher shut them out the rest of the game. Payback's a'coming.

I've actualy started to play in a manner very similar to this. Since Manage-Only was producing anemic offensive results (for both teams), I decided a change was in order.
Someone else (I can't remember who) posted earlier that they liked to control the starting pitcher and let the CPU control the bullpen. I really like this approach. The only difference in my playing is that I do control the hitters...although I'm still playing on Veteran.

My question for you is, do you see nice results offensively by not controlling the hitters? If so, I think its strange that Manage-Only (which is essentially CPU control for all players) doesn't produce the same kind of results as non- Manage-Only mode, yet, with hitters controlled to CPU.
                Interesting.....

By the way,.....you have a great tip on producing more walks...turn off strike zone and vibration.

Thanks for responding highjumper. While letting the CPU hit I do sometimes expierence lack of offense, but being a braves fan and following them closely it appears to be in line with the REAL Braves. My record is 19-7. The tip on the walks was picked up by someone else on this forum. I think that we want basicaly the same thing from this game. I love close games and almost love loosing as much as i do winning.

Let me know how you play style is going and any other tips you may have.
