    Dan Haren

Has anyone been following Dan Haren this season? the guy is incredible so far. he just pitched 8 innings of 1 run ball with 11 ks. i think his season era is now 1.47(wow!) his 11 ks give him 47 on the season which is first in the national league. the guy should be 6-0 right now(only 3-3 if the snakes win tonight), but in his first three starts he got exactly 1 run of support i think. i would say he could be in the running for the cy young this season if the d backs would get of their asses and win some games. any thoughts?

Haren's been outstanding but as you pointed out lack of run support is responsible for his lackluster record. It's still early though. I expect he will be around 15-18 wins by seasons end.

they were saying on baseball tonight that 20+ wins is unattainable for him because he gets so little run support. being a pitcher has to be frustrating. you can pitch an amazing game in which you only make one mistake, and still lose becuase your offense forgot to bring their bats.

Dan Haren is an ace. If Webb is 1a then Haren is 1b and if Webb continues to stay hurt, Haren might just jump him.

Wins are the difference betweeen Jack Morris and Jarrod Washburn. Morris won 20 with an ERA over 4...sometimes pitchers just lull their teammates to sleep. Ever notice how it's the often the same pitchers who get bad run support, while their cohorts in the rotation do not?

Are you really going to belittle pitchers for not getting better run support? Johan Santana is getting barely two runs of support per start this year. How is that his fault?

Also, I really hope your name is a joke if you're telling your pitchers it's their fault that the team isn't putting up more runs.
