i have a sort of n00bish baseball question

when facing righty or lefty hitters, to what side would you like to shift your infield/outfield to get the best chance of catching the ball? in other words, what side does a left or righty mostly hit to? and is it common to shift the outfield accordingly? thanks for any advice

normally you would shift for them to pull the ball. Lefty you would shift towards right field and righty shift towards left field.

it depends on how you pitch them, too. If you're going to throw fastballs away, play them to his oppp, etc....

It depends on how good of a hitter the batter is too... I've had A-Rod pull an outside sinker off of Lowe over the green monster, and watched soriano go opposite field for a double off an inside change. If you have a nasty power hitter up, than put your outfield deep, unless your good at pitching and can keep each pitch in the blue, if the batter doesn' have any blue, keep them deep, and give up the single so the ball won't fly over your head for a triple.

i Traded Todd Walker and Alen Embree for Raphael Furcal, when Furcal bats the CPU brings in their outfield, and when he gets a hold of one, it goes over the outfield's head and furcal gets an inside the park, (2 in 4 games so far.) I suggest being conservitive with your outfield, unless your playing a team like the Angles, that can and will single you to death, then take some chances on the short outfield.
