Giving walks in WSB2k3

How can I make giving walks more accurate in WSB2k3? Right now I can't even give out any unless I try too on purpose. And variable pitching is on high. And I still use my pitch cursor. Anyone have any suggestions?

I tried for weeks. I gave up and went back to HH, this part of the game just ate away at my interest and eventually devoured it.

The thing that hurts the most is that they made up for it with hits, and it became unrealistic and annoying.

I just started my season with the Phillies and am 5 games into it. The Pirates are getting like 17-20 hits per game off of me. I'm getting about 22-25 hits per game off of them. And its real hard to walk someone. Might have to go back to High Heat PC for this.

These will force you to not always try and hit stikes.You will no choice but to set up your pitches and throw balls to get at the batter...tell me how it goes!

They "made up for it with hits" because you're only giving them strikes to hit, and they can handle those pitches. If you're not walking anyone, that means the majority of your pitches are strikes (especially with 3 ball counts) which means the computer batters are able to handle them. The only way to give out walks is if you realize the computer players are good hitters and you prefer to give them 1 base in key situations rather than 2-4 bases. If I'm facing the ChiSox and Mags is up with runners on second and third...he's not getting a strike with Konerko on deck.

With your pitching variation set on high, you're probably throwing a lot of strikes when you mean to throw balls, and vice versa. Try lowering this so you can pinpoint your pitches better.
