    5/18 - 5/31 Game Discussion Thread

Hard to believe we are coming to the end of May.

Even harder to believe that this far into the season the Cardinals are relevant. If our pitching can hold up, we may be able to keep things interesting all year.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

You're dead to me, Mitch Garver

Bases loaded, down a run, and you're trying to draw a walk???

    Dead to me

Call up Harry Ford and put an end to this

What a crazy start to the season where 4th in the ALC is better than 2nd in the ALE AND ALW (4 of the top 6 AL teams are in the central)

And then we have the NL West with 4 of the top 8 teams in that division.....and the Rockies exist too.

The Rockies current projected win total in 162 games wouldn't even pass the DBacks win total right now!

Well, Ronald sure knows how to make a (re) entrance. One pitch. One. Pitch.

          That was very Barves-ish.

Snit can't be allowed to finish this season.

Mistakes like that show this team is poorly coached on the fundamentals.

Continuing to manage the bullpen like it's 1975 is also costing this team week in and week out. Your closer has a 6 era and has allowed 7 HRs before Memorial Day, maybe try to modernize your management skills a little. Would be neat if someone taught Snit the concept of leverage.

Did not realize this was how the rule is interpreted until last night, but on a sacrifice fly you can advance as soon as the ball touches the fielder's glove, and you don't have to wait for the ball to be caught. Tyrone Taylor and Soto collided and the ball bounced off both of their gloves and the Taylor caught it with his bare hand. Conforto tagged after the ball hit their gloves and the ball had yet to be caught but the Mets lost the challenge that he left early

I, embarrassingly, know this from playing recreational kickball in a league that followed all MLB rules unless otherwise specified, like being able to be tagged out by a thrown ball, solely because we once had a player leave base on the touching of a bobbled catch and they knew that was a rule and both teams looked it up to confirm.

Skubal threw a Maddux, broke the record for most Ks in a Maddux, and apparently threw the hardest K pitch in 17 years. Amazing performance, just to keep the tigers from getting a 4 game sweep against Cleveland , i wanna celebrate this amazing performance, but if it takes that much to take 1 game off Cleveland, same team that bounced Detroit last year.... oof

edit: I'm way too negative, that was an amazing effort, go tigers!

Apparently George Kirby needed a couple more rehab outings...
