7/1 thru 7/31 Game Discussion Thread

Its July which means the draft and trade deadline is here!

Curious what the Cardinals do at the deadline. Providing they are still in contention in 2-3 weeks.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

I can't shake the feeling DiPoto is going to overpay on scraps, and I'll have to relive the horror of the Varitek/Lowe deal.

A new ESPN article suggests the Mariners should use that talent base to land one of the best players in baseball: Ronald Acuña Jr.

The proposal acknowledges that Acuña probably isn't available right this moment, but assesses that the Mariners have the best offer to get a deal done if it does come on the table at some point.

In return for Acuña, ESPN has the Mariners trading Colt Emerson, Bryce Miller, Harry Ford, Lazaro Montes and Brandyn Garcia.
I really cant see the Braves moving off Acuna, regardless of their struggles.

I would absolutely love to see him in Seattle, but I'd be sick if they gave up Emerson AND Montes.. Millers injury complicates this also. I can't figure out why tehy didn't have the bone spur cleaned up rather than limping him along with treatment(s)

I'd rather see Kirby in this deal and go a little lighter on the prospect side... I don't believe for one second Kirby is going to re-up with Seattle.

Jays get sent to AAA ahead of the ASG.

Definitely under 10,000 people at this one. How'd anyone think this was a good idea?

Severino starting tonight, maybe facing his future team? If he wants out and the Jays are looking at starting pitching at the deadline, maybe they go after him? Not many current SPs as familiar with the AL East as he is.

          AL Beast is back.

          Rays at 50-45 are 4th.

They'd be 2nd in the central and west. The entire WC scene could just be the AL East Show.

I partially want to see it but also don't.

If the playoffs started today we'd have Jays vs Rays and Red Sox vs Yankees as the ALWC matchups.

Cardinals enter the All-Star break in contention for the playoffs. I don't think anyone saw this coming when players reported to Spring Training. Now what they do over the next few weeks will be interesting.

Interesting to see this year's HRD featuring so many guys who aren't on their original team.

James Wood was traded as a prospect from the Padres to the Nats in the Soto deal

Cruz traded as a prospect from the Dodgers to the Pirates for Tony Watson.

Caminero traded as a prospect from Cleveland to the Rays for Tobias Myers.

Even Rooker and Chisholm are guys traded recently to new teams.

As if the world needs more reasons to hate the Yankees?

too bad Jazz didn't get his *** kicked last night.

                  Don't see this every day.

Runner on 1st and 2nd with 0 outs. Giants pop it up to the 2B.

Umps of course rule it an infield fly, but while doing that the Jays 2B actually couldn't see the ball in the sun and drops it.

You don't see the fielder getting saved by an infield fly too often.

Jays since June 17th have gone 20-8, winning 7 of their 9 series including sweeps of the Yankees, Angels and Giants.

Their only 2 series losses...the White Sox and As.

                    Baseball's weird.

If the Cardinals didn't know what to do at the deadline, they do now. Disappointing.

Always bet on the guy with a bobblehead.

Jeff Hoffman bobblehead night tonight, his kids threw out the first pitch, he comes in for the 9th in a 3 run game and strikes out the side for the save.

Michael McGreevy is going to be a top end rotation arm before all is said and done. Just needs to miss more bats.
