2B - Willie Harris
SS - Miguel Tejada
RF - Magglio Ordonez
LF - Albert Pujols
C - Chris Barth (me...created player)
1B - Pal Konerko
3B - Joe Crede
CF - Joe Borchard
DH - Mike Florie (drafted player)
Now, as soon as I got Pujols and Tejada, I signed both of them to long-term contracts (Tejada - 7 yrs, 40 pts; Pujols - 8 yrs, 40 pts). This year, Ordonez is a free agent, and wants 39 points. I won't hesitate to give it to him, cuz he is worth it (.355 Avg, 64 HR, 153 RBI last season). However, it will put me in a little bit of a cap bind. Here are two trade offers that I have come up with to free up some cap space:
Philadelphia gets:
SS Miguel Tejada
Chicago gets:
SS Jimmy Rollins
#1 draft pick
Rollins is signed to a 5 yr, 18 pt contract vs Tejada's 6 yr, 40 pt contract.
-or-
Cincinatti gets:
RF Magglio Ordonez
Chicago gets:
LF/1B Adam Dunn
RF/OF Austin Kearns
#1 draft pick
Now, before you criticize that one, that is what Cincinnati accepts in the video game...I would prolly drop either Kearns or Dunn from that trade.
Or, would you maybe trade Tejada to New York Yankees for Soriano (Florie would play SS, Soriano 2B, and Harris would move to CF)?
I need some help please...I am leaning towards the Tejada/Rollins trade...opinions?
