    Éric Gagné as a starter

Éric Gagné is trying to get his way back to the Majors as a starter.

He will attempt his comeback with the Québec Capitals..of the Can-Am league (an independant AA level league).

That makes sense. Since he can't get through one inning without allowing a run he should just start throwing six...

      We'll waste him too.

It sounds more like retirement than a comeback attempt.

Gagne was not very good as a starter with the Dodgers earlier in his career.
With his elbow and shoulder issues, not to mention the fact that he can't seem to pitch one inning without giving up a run or two i seriousley doubt that this will last very long.

The guy had 1 season with a 5.44 era (the worst in his 9 years)...and even then hitters were only hitting .258 against him and he is done ???

          Gagné had health problems...

I believe he will be back.

And don't start with the Mitchell Report thing ..it's pretty obvious that most MLB players are juicing.

He allowed 46 hits in 46.1 innings to go along with 22 BBs. That on the heals on his 18 inning stint in Boston in which he allowed 26 hits and 9 BBs. Opponents slugged .494 and posted an .839 OPS off of him in Milwaukee while he posted his worst strikeout rate and K/BB ratios since going to the bullpen. Furthermore, actually watching the man pitch revealed that his fastball had little life and he lacked any sort of command with any of his pitches. He was almost totally at the whim of the elements and his defense to catch the numerous amounts of flyballs he was allowing (of which 11 cleared the fence). The guy had a nice peak (albeit chemically enhanced) but his days as a legit Major League pitcher are over.

We also know what most players look like when they stop juicing. I'd like to see Gagne succeed but it's not looking very likely.

I don't get how he was back to his dominant self in Texas and then just completely lost it again.

Probably because he did not want to go to Boston because he did not want to be a setup man, he only wanted to close. He didn't get his way and he allowed it to affect the way he pitched.

I think Eric's done. He had a good run though, that's for sure.

I know how Boston and Milwaukee fans felt when they brought him in. It's like, "well, we lose". I feel this way when I see Boof Bonser waddle his way to the mound.
