    Torborg fired in FLA

    ....replaced with Jack McKeon ESPN.COM

I thought the most interesting part of this was firing Brad Arnsberg...I remember the Expos were thinking about trying to get him back earlier this year, by suing or something...he got so pissed that he wasn't allowed in the stadium. LOL .

Don't know much about the new skipper, but the fish are very young and got some really great players like lowell, castillo and the surprising quick start of Alex Gonzalez...they've got about 6 players with about 18-22 ribbies

        The need a fresh start.

They've been this team on the EDGE of making that next step for like 5 years.

Sad thing is, if they ever do reach that next step (again) they'll get rid of all their players.
I'm surprised the Marlins have ANY fans.

My thought on this......... ITS NOT TORBORG's FAULT!!!! With all those injuried, not even Torre could manage this team to a winning record.

It's a public relations thing. The Marlins were getting too much bad press for all the pitcher injuries so they canned their manager...

Showing how much they were thinking, they then hired a manager who has been know to horribly mis-handle bullpens. Not only is that starting pitching in shambles, but McKeon will probably kill their bullpen to top it off.

I don't thinkk that will happen. That was previous ownership. If they can make that move to the next level and compete for a playoff spot next year, the fans will show up. They play an entertaining brand of ball with all of the running they do, now they need to really start competing for a postseason spot in the next year and a half.

Uh Checkmate you do know that the ownership in Fla. is the same ownership that lied to the fans of Montreal about building a new stadium and keeping MLB in the city for years to come. They even had a deal in place with the provincial gov't but backed out and made some cockaminie excuses about how they didn't get a good deal. This is also the same ownership that couldn't even renew their own club's radio contract. The Expos radio PBP guy had to do games over the friggin internet! Oh ya this same ownership stole the same guy to do work for the Marlins.

As for Jack McKeon, Why are they trying to win with an over the hill manager who fluked it with the Reds a few yrs ago? "sighs"
