Is your new MGR better than the old?

Just curious what people around OS think.

Ones that I can think of:
    Melvin vs. Hinch
    Girardi vs. Torre
    Gibbons vs. Gaston
    Tracy vs. Russell
    Geren vs. Macha
    Baker vs. Miley
    Bochy vs. Alou
    Pinellia vs. Baker
    Maddon vs. Piniella
Leyland vs. Trammell (Jim Leyland's been gettin a lot of crap lately)
    Randolph vs. J.Manuel
    Garner vs. Cooper
    Black vs. Bochy
Don Wakamatsu is AWESOME btw. I'm glad the M's didn't go with Cora.

No. Gardy is one of the more overrated managers in the game.

Left off the list Manuel over Bowa in 2004.

I'd say that one worked out as Uncle Charlie's brought success to Phillies baseball again.

Since the fan favorite was Jim Leyland (at the time) to replace Bowa, I'd say it worked out favorably.

Perhaps one of the best moves Pat Gillick made, was not making a move,.., to bring in his very own new manager once Gillick replaced GM Ed Wade.

Bringing back Cito was a great move too for Toronto. I'd say Pinella leaving w/ Maddon taking over in Tampa is another of high success, and Pinella taking over CHC is a success too.

        Childress vs. Tice? LMAO

Actually, I don't know what to think of Gardenhire in comparison to Kelly. He seems to teach to hack at everything, and hasn't done much w/some pretty talented Twins teams. Kelly won 2 world series.

Torre is better than Grady Little, Jim Tracy, Davey Johnson, and Bill Russell. Nuff said.

Gaston is a lot better then Gibbons. They both have their faults (Gibbons being too high strung and confrontational, Cito being too stubborn to shake things up) but Cito brings credibility to the team. One thing about Cito is that to a man all the players respect him whereas they didn't really respect Gibbons or took him seriously.

Wak >>> Riggleman, McLaren, Hargrove, Melvin. Its hard to argue with Piniella's record in Seattle, but if all things are equal, I'd probably take Wak over Lou as well. Wak's bullpen usage is probably the best in Seattle's 30+ year history.

However, I really wish Wak would use his bench more...especially pinch hitters when the splits scream for one.

Larussa has worked out pretty good for the cards but I've never been a huge fan of his. It royally pissed me off the way ozzie was forced out so they could bring in royce clayton also when he pinch hit for Mcgwire in the 01 NLCS. I've always been more of a "gut feeling/sentimental guy" than numbers and statistics, which is basically what Larussa is. I'll give him his due, he's done a pretty good job though.

Dave Trembley >>>> Sam Perlozzo, Lee Mazzilli

Both of the previous made the dumbest decisions as far as bullpen management, etc. went. Trembley's only real flaw is that he gives guys a little too long of a leash (Jamie Walker) before changing their role.

No as of now Torre was better than Girardi. But I think Girardi is doing a good job for the most part.

It's funny. Wasn't it Pittsburgh who decided they wanted Jim Tracy? And Oakland has done nothing w/Bob Geren, even though Billy Beane asserts managers aren't valuable.

And wasn't Macha reported to have not talked to Adam Melhuse for a month? They did a good smear job on him on his way out of Oakland.
