ASB--took 110 games but it finally happened

I have played all 110 games of my season so far and last night after finishing up a game, I went to play the next game and a screen popped up that said Robert Fick had a strained back and would miss about 2 weeks. Not a good time for that to happen since he was hot for me (.265 BA, 18 HR, 73 RBI) but it's cool that i FINALLY get to do some adjustments using the DL. I don't think I have much to worry about, ive got a 9 game lead in the division with about 51 games remaining, so a platoon of Francos (Matt and Julio) and maybe some Craig Counsell will take over till he comes back.

Hmm, you got a injury without simming? I get lots simming. Year 1 I lost Smoltz, Giles and Derosa for the year right after all star break.

This year I lost Ben Grieve (FA signing in off season) and Javey for the season.

Yep, shocking isn't it.

It was surprising to say the least. I had saved a game from a few nights before and was finishing it up. Finished the game, simmed out the remainder of the games for the day, checked a few stats and when i went to play the next game i got the notice that he was hurt.

Picked him up off waivers. For the first 2 months of the season, Giles stunk and Vinny Castilla was even worse, so I platooned Castilla/DeRosa for the first few weeks. Then I played DeRosa exclusively at third for pretty much the month of May. I got close to trading Giles since the trading block was showing i could get Adam Kennedy for him but i decided to hold off.

A little bit after that the Rockies let Ronnie Belliard slip through waivers so I picked him up for a little extra IF help. Not 2 weeks later Counsell was on waivers so I picked him up and demoted Belliard.

DeRosa didn't do much for me, so I went back to Castilla around the break and my whole team has been pretty hot since then. I'm going with the "real" lineup now(Castilla, Furcal, Giles, and Fick in the infield) and using Counsell for some spot starts and pinch hitting.

Keep GIles ! He is doing good for me in the 2nd year. Vinny retired for me after the first season, wasn't going to re-sign him anyway. I picked up Grieve and Spezio in the off season and moved Chipper back to 3rd.

I will be keeping him. Not sure what else im going to do, guess I'll worry about that in the offseason. I did extend Furcal's contract and it has paid off - .288 avg, 4 HR, 50 RBI, 36 steals. I'm like you, won't be bringing back Castilla. I may let Javy go as well and bring up Johnny Estrada, he's hit very well for me the few times I've brought him to the majors, not to mention being a switch hitter.

for some reason this game doesn't value Counsell very much. He got sent to the minors in my franchise too. And in my Expansion draft he was available. Hard to imagine any of that in real life as much as Brenly loves the guy.
