I was bored and with the news of Sosa and A-Rod two of the names of the 104 that tested positive for steroids. Re: The 104 names I think that are on the "list"

Jeremy Giambi, Matt Lawton, David Segui. and Jason Grimsley have already admitted to using PED's. Alex Sanchez was suspended a few years ago for it. We know Lo Duca used and i believe Gagne either admitted or was outted.

I never thought i would say this but i agree with Bill Plaschke ( i know, i'm scared too). It's time we learn the final 102 names and like Plaschke said have the players union give the players (they know who they are) a week to publicly come clean and then release the names.

At this point they are doing what i hate most about unions (including the one i am in) they are protecting the guilty players while the innocent ones suffer. At some point they are all going to get leaked out anyway so why not just get it over with so the game can move on.

I like your list but I think under the Marlins you can take out Alex Gonzalez and put Josh Beckett in there. To me when I watched the Marlins back in 2003 he just looked at little bulkier than normal.

Also hasn't Mike Cameron been suspended for using PED's a few years back?? And I think somewhere I heard Gregg Zaun who plays for the O's is on the "new" list.

He was. He applied for a therapeutic exemption to use them in 2008. Not sure if it was granted or not. It stemmed from that nasty collision with Beltran in 05 I think.

Don't know the specifics with the actual contract or the law in general, but I'm pretty sure the union would be putting their head on a chopping block if they even thought for a second about releasing even one name from that list. Whoever is releasing the information is protected because they weren't part of the agreement of the study. I also have a feeling that any player who's name is released has a good case against the union for being reckless and allowing the agreement to be violated as it has. I just don't think any active player has any interest in going against the player's union... but I guess we'll find out about that soon with Sosa being named, since he'd have a reason to sue the union if my thought is right.

Personally, I don't think the union should violate the players rights any more than they already have been. If knowing a group definitely was using makes people feel more "comfortable" about accepting the "steroid era" then knowing it was 104 on the list is enough... knowing the names just satisfies the nosey people.

lol...wouldn't surprise me to see more Red Sox names on the actual list if they were tested. Mark Belhorn and Bill Mueller immediately jump to mind when speculating. Still, according to Ken Rosenthal we are simply creating trouble here with all this speculation. We should clearly step back and let the "professionals" do it in as hypocritical and reactive a way as possible.

              Aaron Guiel and Michael Tucker?

Did I miss when they were talked about with regards to steroids? Because I don't think the stats of either one would show they did.

It's his opinion, and it's not guaranteed that someone's stats will go up if they used something.

Since as you said, "it's his opinion", I was hoping to get HIS reason for why he felt the two of them would be on the list and thought maybe I'm missed the two of them being connected at some point.

But thanks for stating the obvious for me.

Exactly, like look today Pablo Ozuna got suspened for 50 games in the Phillies minors and I have seen games on TV and I would have never guessed he was doing anything.

To the OP, I don't agree with Alex Gonzalez of the Cubs. I hated him, but don't think he did steroids, based on the fact that he was only on the Cubs for defense and clutch hitting. Unless he already admitted??

I think you should add Mark Prior to that list, as well as Kerry Wood. Both were consistently throwing 110+ pitches every 5 days. They might've needed the extra bit of stamina and recovery speed after all of that wear and tear.

Which is the whole point and exactly why I'm curious as to the reasons the two of them are on the list.

If you look at a guy and he doesn't look like he's on steroids, and you look at the guys stats and nothing sticks out, wouldn't you wonder why someone thinks they would be on a list for a failed drug test?

For some odd reason i am almost willing to bet Kapler is clean. As for Nixon, i wouldn't be surprised. He had issues with his back in the minor leagues that mostly seemed to go away once he got to the majors.
