Which game should I buy?
I am thinking about buying a baseball game for ps2, and I would like some opinions on the pros and cons of each game. I was just about ready to buy High Heat 2004 because I have been reading about the great gameplay, but I read a lot of reviews that said the graphics are pretty bad. Are there any better games out there?Tags: None -

Re: Which game should I buy?
Depends what you want in a game. If graphics are important to you, go for WSB. If you want the thrill of a real baseball game, get HH. I have both and love both, though HH gets more gameplay. If you like extras get ASB. I'd stay away from MVP, which is too arcadey for me.Comment

Ya no power swing button is really arcadey.
MVP provides a really fun playing experience. The only real problem I have with it is that diving is CPU controlled. WSB and HH are just crap now after paying MVP. I was a huge HH fan (owned every HH game ever) and I loved WSB before I played MVP. Now I can't stand them.
MVP is not arcadey, and anyone who says so has not played it much. Hitting and pitching are difficult and homers ae hard to come by, just as in real life.
I don't think people who dislike MVP are stupid or anything...to each there own. All I ask is that you rent the games that you are most interested in (make sure MVP is on that list), and give them all a fair chance.
Except ASB. If you want to play actual games, stay away from this. The gameplay is abysmal and it is just long and boring. I'm a huge baseball fan and owned ASB last year. This year I rented all the games first and ASB was last on my list of games to buy. If you sim mores games than you play and want an in-depth franchise mode, this is the game for you, but if you want real, and fun gameplay, look elsewhere.Comment

Re: Which game should I buy?
In my opinion, MVP is the way to go this year. Overall, it provides the most fun and keeps you coming back for more. I've owned all of this years games on the XBox and all but MVP and HH have been returned.
ASB's cursor hitting is unbelievably hard to manage. The pitches come in way to fast and you just can't get the cursor to move quick enough to catch up with the ball. If it were'nt for this very frustrating fact, this game would have been retained in my game library. Very impressive graphics and other features.
WSB has an unrealistic ball flight on balls hit toward the outfield. Seems as though the ball is actually floating out there....very slow (compared to other games). Impressive graphics like ASB.
HH would be my game of choice if it were'nt for these two things: 1) Subpar graphics compared to the other games 2) computer always seems to manage a late inning comeback every stinking game !!!!! I've been able to hold off and save some wins, but I've lost more games than I care to remember. One game I was winning 7-2 in the 8th and ended up losing 14-7 !!!! Computer batters were hitting the ball like it was a beach ball. I could'nt stop them and I was mixing up pitches, throwing balls, strikes, off speed, fast balls all over the frikkin plate and they hit EVERYTHING !!!! Very frustrating part of this game
MVP continues to get most of my attention (after Nascar racing of course)MVP does have some annoying gameplay issues, but overall these issues pale in comparison to the other games. At least for me it does.
Best advice I can give you is to rent them all. Give them all a fair chance and buy what fits your style !!
