I'm not flaming here but the METS SUCK. How do you walk Mariano Rivera to force in a run and call yourself a closer?!!? LMAO WOW

He was actually scared of Mo. ROTFLMAO

If I was playing MLB 09 and saw this happen I'd be writing Sony and posting like crazy that the game was full of crap.

      Mariano!!

That face Jeter made when they pitched to him was hillarious.

I can't believe they threw a strike to Jeter.

              Congrats to the GOAT.

Reaching 500 saves and getting an RBI in the same night. Not to shabby.

And the way he got it. Patience at the plate and working the count against a "closer".

He showed more discipline than Robinson Cano has ever shown in his career.

But he hasn't really gotten better, he's basically been the same player he's always been. When he's on a hot streak he looks great, he can hit pretty much any pitch and he uses the whole field. But he has no plate discipline, and no idea of how to have a good at bat, so when his swing isn't right he's basically an automatic out because he doesn't walk and he's not selective at all.

He's a good player but he's always been a player who looks like he could be a star if he gets his head on straight, but it's his 5th season and it still hasn't happened.

Heh. I said the same thing when I was watching the game.

I was really excited when the pirates demoted Ian Snell to AAA b/c he was absolutly awful going 2-8. But I read today that he pitched his first game since being demoted and struck out 13 batters in a row! WTF!? I'm still glad he was demoted because he is a major headcase and probably the biggest ******* in baseball.

Congratulations to Mariano Rivera for reaching 500. Yeah, I'll concede he's the best closer ever. So many seasons with sub.-2 ERAs and a career ERA+ of 197. I don't care how many more saves Hoffman has, that's pretty elite company right there to even reach 500 and there's nothing wrong with Hoffman being the second best closer or whatever.

We'll probably see more reaching 500, but dang.

Rivera is undoubtedly the greatest closer ever. It's not even a debate imo.
