    6/29-7/5 MLB discussion

2 more games before Manny comes back. Andre Ethier had a good week.

Are you talking about last week? Because minus that 3 homer game, Ethier didn't do so hot last week.

        I'm glad I'm not a Pirates fan...

It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.

Mother Nature looks to have cost John Smoltz his first win with an organization other than the Braves. Leading 9-1 after 4 and a half innings the game was suspended due to rain and didn't resume until over an hour later with Smoltz being replaced. He looked solid on the mound, hitting his spots with the fastball. The slider had good bite and good location. The split looked off and he only threw a couple curves. Health permitting, he looks like he should be able to give Boston something a bit better than league average stuff out of the back of the rotation. It remains to be seen what kind of stamina he'll have though. Health permitting though is a pretty big "if" with Smoltz.

Man, it still doesnt seem right seeing Smoltz in a uniform other than the Braves.

And the Orioles have come back from 10-1 down in the 7th inning to beat the Red Sox.

                  Who's bullpen was that?

I guess a clunker every now and then will happen...but man...that was rough.

                  Stupid rain...lol

Giants are really playing some good ball. And wow! Haren was dealing tonight.

How could the Orioles possibly have come back on "the best bullpen ever?". My eyes must be deceiving me.

About time for some market correction in that BP. It's not this good.

Big Albert is simply, BEASTLY. I REALLY HOPE that he's clean. I'll lose faith in this sport if he isn't.

He's really the only reason I want to see that list of 100 some players, if he's not on there that would prove to me he's most likely clean. I do hope he's clean though, he's so damn good.

If it ever comes out that he is using, and/or has ever used, PEDs, I'll quit following baseball for a very long time.

agreed, if the best hitter is cheating, I think I would be about done too; I still can't believe the Brewers scored 6 runs off Santana
