AL - Nolan Reimold (obvious homer pick, but has some great numbers)

Don't know all the rookies but Porcello has to be in the mix for AL ROY

Good pick Mill, like you I'd probably vote Tommy Hanson. He has a great scoreless streak going.

AL - Elvis Andrus. I've never seen a rookie perform like he does in the field.

NL - Tommy Hanson. He's already looking like an ace.

            Re: Rookie of the Year

I don't think there are any that really stand out as the for sure winner in either league. Pitchers will probably be the most likely to win it.

AL is probably between Porcello, Reimold, Vin Mazzaro, and Andrew Bailey. I would throw Andrus in there, but I don't think they use fielding to determine the award.

NL has Jordan Zimmerman, Belisario, Rasmus, and Tommy Hanson.

              NL: Tommy Hanson, Braves

Just pimping another guy, Brad Bergesen (SP, Orioles)

                    Here are his stats compared to Romero and Porcello;

                    Bergesen: 5-2, 3.53 ERA, 91.2 IP, 87 H, 19 BB, 46 K, .251 AVG, 1.16 WHIP
                    Porcello: 8-5, 3.90 ERA, 83 IP, 89 H, 29 BB, 44 K, .278 AVG, 1.42 WHIP
                    Romero: 6-3, 2.85 ERA, 72.2 IP, 66 H, 24 BB, 61 K, .248 AVG, 1.24 WHIP

These stats include Bergesen and Romero's starts today, both going 8 innings with Romero giving up no runs and Bergesen 1 run.

I'd take Bailey over them all, and that's coming from a Rangers fan. Aside from the blown saves he's been excellent.

                      4-1, 2.14 ERA, 8 saves (4 blown though), 46.1 IP, 29 H, 18 BB, 54 K, .177 BAA, 1.01 WHIP

Not seeing Porcello, as the stats I listed earlier show that he's not even the best rookie pitcher. Reimold, Bergesen, Romero, and maybe Andrus are ahead of him at this point.

Relievers just aren't that important compared to starters though.

Scott Williamson won NL ROY in 1999 as a setup man/closer so it's not out of the question that Bailey could win it.
