Does anyone that has ASB 2004 play Baseball Mogul?

The reason I ask is that I was getting a little bored with ASB 2004 because of the gappers that result in too many extra base hits, the lack of injuries in my season, and a few other things that hurt the simulation quality of the game so I decided to take a break for a week or two from my favorite game.

I was at Big Lots and saw Baseball Mogul 2003 for 5.99 so I picked it up. After playing for about 4 hours, I can definitely say it is not even close to ASB 2003 in terms of simulation. Here are some reasons:

    1. They only have the player licenses so there are no real teams or stadiums (this can be altered)

    2. Roster management is definitely 1990's quality--no DL, no waivers, no June Draft, etc.

    3. Difficult interface that doesn't even tell you what side a guy bats from or stats beyond the 15 basic batting stats.

I read about 2004 and it doesn't fix these. I am pretty disappointed that a text based PC Sim would be so far behind a console game. So my questions are threefold:

    1. Is there more to this game than I am seeing?

    2. Is there a better PC Sim on the market?

    3. And, most importantly, does anyone that has ASB 2004 actually play and enjoy this game?

I look forward to your responses. For me, this has been a great affirmation of just how good ASB 2004 is!

I play both. I haven't played Mogul 2004 yet though. Though Mogul 2003 isn't a great simulation of baseball it still does a decent job. I quit playing ASB basically and switched to WSB2k3. But all games are great in their own rights.

I play ASB2004, but I also play a text based baseball sim on my computer. Its called Out Of The Park 5, which is very deep and very easy to navigate through. I believe they just put up a demo at www.ootp5.com .

If you like baseball sims, buy out of the park 5. It is incredible. I have Mogul too and OOTP is so much better.
