WSB 2K3 lineups being messed with :(
Why can't my lineups be left alone in WSB 2K3? I have all the options for allowing the cpu to intervene in managing my lineups and rosters set to OFF. At the beginning of each game, however, my lineup has been changed in a couple of spots. Whenever I promote and demote players, I get the message of "your roster doesn't have 25 players, would you like the roster to be updated automatically...." type of stuff. When I go in and count the number of players in my roster, there clearly is more than 25 players. And, my minors has about 10 players. Is this a bug in WSB 2K3? I really don't want the computer to do any managing of my lineups, and the constantly having to adjust my lineup before each game is bringing me to the point of not wanting to play the game. Even worse, when it adjusts your lineups, it puts players in totally in appropriate spots of the lineup. For example, Austin Kearns or Ken Griffey, Jr. will be leading off. Branyan will be playing third, with Boone sitting on the bench. Mateo will be playing RF, at times, with Kearns sitting on the bench. It just doesn't make any sense. Anyone else having these problems?Tags: None -
Re: WSB 2K3 lineups being messed with
I don't have that problem with Batting Lineups, sometimes certain players are on the bench because there listed as tired, but thats it. The thing I don't like is when I have my Pitching Line Up set, and everytime I go to play a game the pitching lineup automatically adjusts by Ratings, for example:
My lineup in the manager screen is:
Clemens
Petitte
Mussina
Wells
Weaver
But it automatically adjusts it to ratings, when I start a game, so it ends up being:
Mussina
Pettite
Clemens
Weaver
Wells
And its sucks to have to remember who pitched in your last game. I don't understand why it does this.

Re: WSB 2K3 lineups being messed with
As far as line-ups, it automatically subs people out a certain percentage of games. If you are in the edit line-up screen, hit either the black or white button and it should pop-up with the screen allowing you to adjust it so it doesn't sub them out automatically.
As far as pitchers, it shouldn't do that, unless at some point you got out of pitching line-up editing and said "allow computer to reorder line-up." If you said yes to that because it found an error--like you didn't have enough starters or something--then it would automatically reorder it for you.Comment

Re: WSB 2K3 lineups being messed with
Thanks for the helpAdjusting the "playing time percentage" or whatever it is does help a lot. Now, my only problem is figuring out a way to get this Reds offense on the right track. They are now 5-10 and 5 games out of first place. Thankfully I get to play against the Expos next, since they have the worst ERA in the National League at a 5.38 clip. I'm sick of playing the Cubs, who played me seemingly forever. It's my relief pitching that is worrying me now, they have lost at least two of my last three games. Tonight, I tried taking Gabe White for his third inning, and pinch hitter Lenny Harris proceeded to slice a 2-run triple into the gap in right-center. I think my club has forgotten how to win
The worst part of all is that I can't seem to get any really good pitching or hitting unless I give up one of my own cornerstones. I think the trade of Shawn Green for Ken Griffey, Jr. was a good one, as he hit two homeruns tonight (too bad no one was on base), since I now seem to have more offense. I did notice that a couple of hits made it into centerfield, whereas if Griffey were out there that wouldn't have happened. Could be my imagination.Comment
