    Action Replay

Can the Action Replay be used to download any kind of file off the internet onto your PS2?

I'm starting a franchise on HH, and I want to download the rosters from the 'net onto my PS2.

A sharkport was recommended, but nobody seems to carry it around here.

Would the Action Replay work for the rosters I want? Or do you have to download specific AR files from the AR website?

Nope you need a sharkport to download files. I tried te same thing with buying a AR but all it is usable for is inputing codes. Not DLin them. I gave mine away since I dont use codes.

        What about the Xport?

Is that only for the Xbox?

It seems nobody around here has the Sharkport in stock What a bummer.

Naw, X-port is the European sharkport. Same thing, diffrent name. I could'nt find it stores ethier that why I gave it away. I dont know why they even advertised it in the instruction book if its out of stock.

I wonder if Datel could make this more confusing.

The Action Replay for the PS2 just allows input of codes - like the old Gameshark.

The Xport is not for the Xbox at all, but the PS2. It allows for files transfer (using the same format at the Sharkport, I believe.)

I use my A/R to download rosters......not just codes. In fact I've never used it for codes. But maybe the PS2 A/R is different for I use XBOX.

Whew, thanks for clarifying. I have a PS2 with a Sharkport and an Xbox. I was planning on picking up an AR for Xbox in the next week or two and beginning this summer buy my sports games for Xbox only.

Is it even possible the AR for the PS2 is different?

The AR for the PS2 is a code thing - like the Gameshark. This is the name it sold under in Europe. When it's manufacturer, Datel, took the rights away from InterAct it started distributing the gadgeets themselves, using the European names. Except for the Xbox products, which they seemingly named in a simple attempt to confuse U.N. Arms Inspectors.
