Cone officially Done
Franco was activated to replace him. I can't wait to see Franco again, he's my favorite. I remember when Cone came through Memphis to play AA ball when he was an Expo. Great player and a great human being. I hope he stays within the organization.Tags: None -
Re: Cone officially Done
Cone was an Expo?!! WTF!
Anyways, he had a pretty durable career and I always admired his will to win. I remember him in Toronto in '92 and he was a vital part of the '92 stretch drive. To most fans tho he'll be remembered as a Met.
I think he would be a good pitching coach as would Orel Hershiser (wasn't he offered the pitching coach job for the NYM?)Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

i am pretty sure cone was never an expo, he came up through the Royals system
Hershiser is the pitching coach for the Rangers.

You are correct, he was a Royal. I forgot that the Memphis AA team at the time switched from an Expo affiliation to the Royals in 1984.Comment
