Re: Adam Laroche for Adrian Gonzalez
No way! I was just watching it too but my sister wanted to watch her ****ing Wizards of Waverly Place DVR recording while she is eating.
That can't be true, can it? Red Sox would be straight owning if it is!Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60 -

Re: Adam Laroche for Adrian Gonzalez
Yeah, my guess is they said something like "They were working up a trade for Adrian Gonzalez from the Padres but got Adam LaRoche instead," or something like that. I have a feeling the talk would be enormous at this point.
And are they all announcing from different locations?Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: Adam Laroche for Adrian Gonzalez
I didn't hear that, I tuned in at like the third inning, and Phillips in all of his idiocy was randomly talking about how good the Cubs offense has been and just goes "And next they should trade for Freddy Sanchez to be their second baseman, and then Fontenot can be moved around and that will make them even better, more rambling." Without even mentioning who they would or could trade for Freddy Sanchez, or that the Pirates were even interested in such a trade, yet he talked about it like it was some sort of trade currently happening.
It always annoys the hell out of me when announcers or analysts just assume that small market teams will hand over their top players to large market teams for no rhyme or reason.
The Pirates are interested in acquiring young talent to rebuild their farm system. The Cubs don't really have much young talent in their farm, or even on their MLB club. Therefore, why would they trade their highest valued player to the Cubs? Tell me Steve Phillips.Comment

Re: Adam Laroche for Adrian Gonzalez
I could see maybe including LaRoche in a deal for Gonzalez, but not trading straight up. While i like what the Sox have gotten out of LaRoche so far (.417, 1 HR, 3 RBI's, 2 doubles in 3 games) If that were to happen the Padres need to fire Kevin Towers because LaRoche and Gonzalez are not in the same league talent wise.
Oh, and Steve Phillips is an idiot and along with Joe Morgan has made watching baseball on ESPN unbearable.Comment

Re: Adam Laroche for Adrian Gonzalez
Oh hell no. If the Padres ever traded Adrian for Adam LaRoche straight up, I'd **** bricks and toss them on the field at PETCO Park. We don't need a first basemen when we have one who's stuck playing the corner OF positions.
I'd prefer pitching and what not from the Red Sox, but have no need for LaRoche and Lars Anderson (considering we have too many players trying to play in left field and right field and if Adrian is traded, Blanks can go back to first).Comment
