Just about every season seattle has the best record in baseball (most of the time) but they end up losing in like the first round of the playoffs. -

They have a series vs. Atlanta next week, that will be a real test. BTW - I'm a huge M's fan. They do have the best record but I'm not sure how it will hold up when they go on stretches in the division. They have beat up on the Central real good, and part of being a good baseball team is going 6-0 when you play the Royals and the Twins, sort of good teams, but when they have to play more Yanks, more Sox, more A's, the gap might not be gone, but it will shrink.
AND BTW - They don't lose in the first round, they usually lose in the ALCS to the Yanks, and hell, its pretty hard for anyone to beat the Yanks. The Mariners, the last half decade, have been the second best team in the AL. Over the past 3 yrs, they have the best record of any team in the entire majors.Member of the OS RAMS Club.Comment

A huge Mariners fan in New York? Why's that?
Anyhow, they're my favorite team, but they're not a playoff team. Matched up against the A's, Yankees or Red Sox, they'd get mopped. Their offense is pretty dismal. Although it's gotta count for something that they won 93 games last year, despite Edgar Martinez being injured a lot & having 3 hitters they were really counting on (Boone, Cameron, Cirillo) just tank. What happened to Cirillo, anyway? A .311 lifetime hitter now down around .240? Must've stayed at Coors Field a little too long.Comment
