Is there a Benson who is a starter for the Reds? Because this can't be Kris Benson you're talking about. Must be another one of your starters with a 5.00+ ERA

Wow, look at athat. Another immature fan who comes back with kiddy remarks about the Reds, when we aren't even talking about the Reds. Grow up.

I was stating my opinion on the fact Kris Benson hasn't lived up to his potential of an ace. Hell, even his own manager agrees. I no way said Kris Benson was better than any pitcher on the Reds. Hell, the Reds are interested in getting Benson. So don't even start this stupid crap.

Now, I will stoop to your level and say .. enjoy fighting for last place with the Brewers.

And with that being said, let me clear something up. Benson has pitched great at times, then very very bad at times. I just don't think he can beat one of the best offensives in the league. Thats all I was saying.

Re: DO I DARE TO START KIM IN FANTASY BASEBALL?

                        Wow...so I'm an immature fan now...that's a new one.

So you want a more mature response? Here goes. Benson's ERA this year is 3.73. In one lousy game, he gave up 6 earned runs in 2.1 innings (and surely we can credit every pitcher at least one crap outing a year). If you take that game away, he has an ERA of 3.09, which would rank him #11 in the NL.

In his five losses this year, the Bucs have scored 0, 2, 1, 1, and 2 runs.

In the game in which McClendon called him out, he gave up a 2-0 lead in a game in which the offense only scored 2 runs early on and then quit.

Also remember, this is only the guy's 4th year in the league (and coming off surgery). While there are the occasional aces right out of the gates (Wood, Prior, etc) most aces take several years to become dominant. Randy Johnson took years to find the plate and Woody Williams was a virtual nobody for years until he suddenly became a top pitcher.

The reason I made the post I did is that I was completely confused by your statement that Benson = run support for the opposition. If it were someone like Jimmy Anderson I'd understand (you should know all about him...at least your team didn't put up with his ineptitude for long).

Well atleast you cleared it up.

But the reason I went off is because, there is no reason to critize a team that is above your team , just because I said Benson will get rocked against the Red Sox. Coming back with a reponse like you did, was to me immature.

But leave it at that. I KNOW, as he has beat my Reds several times, that Benson is a great pitcher - I was just stating my opinion on how one of the best offenseives will do. And stating that Kim should do well against one of the worst offensives. That was the meaning of my post, not to stir things up or cause any trouble.
