Going to a Nationals game, need advice

Ok well a coworker game me tickets today for the nationals game.

Should i take the metro, or park near by? I dont know where i would get on metro and the directions make it seem like it wouldnt be to hard to park near by. Im leaning toward driving into the city.

Honestly i am just looking for some quick advice from people who have been there before. Parking is my only concern. Thanks for any help.

And if there is anything i should know or do while im there, let me know.

Not sure how bad parking is but the metro is definitely the best bet. Don't know where you're coming from but you could go to Greenbelt to park and hop on there.

Close to the worst... yeah you can say that, lol. Always cool to check out a new park though.

Greenbelt is north of the stadium so that wouldn't make sense for you. If you're driving up from Fredricksburg then you probably should go ahead and take your chances with parking (especially on a Tuesday). It shouldn't be THAT bad. Otherwise I don't know the best metro spot for you. Braddock Rd in Alexandria?

Guessing the game's around 7... you'll probably hit some nasty traffic on the way up.

The Nats would like to thank you and the other 16 people for coming out.

Well i agree with everything you say. The coworker just came back and told me parking near by should be my best bet. Iv been to Camden Yards a few times when i was younger so this will be alot of fun. Thanks alot for your help.

              Need advice?

Start drinking heavily, it solves all problems.

You can thank Ben Fransisco, Jhonny Peralta, and Jeremy Sowers for providing me with extensive testing.

Not at Nationals Park that's for sure.

Tailgate. So at least they don't rape your pockets while they're raping your time.

I find it best to watch this nightly disaster occur on MASN.

LMAO i didnt realize they were THAT bad. Either way ill just go and root for the marlins so i can enjoy winning . I wont have time to tailgate so i dont plan on drinking much. Its my girls first time at a pro game, the tickets were free, and i havent been to a game in forever.

Washington is 0-9 against the Marlins this year, so that's probably not such a bad idea

I think you guy summed it up pretty well. I've actually been busy trying to secure tickets to tomorrow's game myself. Personally, I never park at Nats games as the metro is a whole lot easier to manage. I typically just drive over to the New Carolton station, park, get on the Orange line, get off at L'Enfant Plaza, take the Green line to Navy Yard and just do the reverse on the way back. If sb24 is coming in from Greenbelt station, he doesn't even have to change lines once. It's simple as hell. Just be sure to ignore the occasional nutjob. I had a guy working out with small weights last time I rode metro.

I took the Metro once earlier this year and it was a disaster. I love the metro and prefer it to driving but since it was Nats-O's it was extremely crowded, we waited forever for trains, and just overall sucked.

When I go I always drive. But that's probably because my dad's tickets have parking right next to the stadium. Last year we had a lot that was a couple blocks away.

I'm not sure how many parking lots are open to the public w/o pre-paid deals, so that makes it a little more difficult. But if you take metro, be prepared to wait in long lines and wait for trains.
