they could drink straight from Sammy's bat, "Just pour a little of that into the Adirondack marked with a "C".

Don't be stupid. it was dumb that they even bothered checking the rest. After this I can't see someone even as stupid as Sammy using a corked bat.

Finally, someone with half a brain has responded to this.

If you used a corked bat, and knew it was illegal, why would you have more than 1? You'd have to be the biggest idiot on the planet to have more than 1.

First, if it was discovered, and you had more, you're screwed.

Secondly, guys that do this like to keep it a secret. Very seldom does anyone on the entire team know there's a corked bat around.

Finally, you probably don't use it every time. Just wouldn't be worth the risk. You use it when there's something available. In Scammy's instance, 2 guys in scoring pos and the fact that he hasn't hit shinola since the injury.

Come on, people, don't be so naive to think that the ONLY time in his illustrious career that he had the unfortunate 'luck' of picking the 'wrong' bat, the thing breaks and spills it's guts to the world.

                        Coincidence?
