Bowa,Phillies and Pat Burell
Man this team is in a real slump.Burell is hitting .193 Mesa Sucks and is too erratic and shaky to close on a regular basis,ESPECIALLY with 2-3 run leads. They are 9.5 back....I think Larry Bowa is a good manager who should be able to get his team motivated but they really rean't playing up to par.Anyone think he will get traded?Tags: None -
Re: Bowa,Phillies and Pat Burell
Its not just Pat's fault the team isn't playing well, and I don't think he will be traded. Jimmy Rollins was 1-15 in his last 15 at bats before last night's game. (Don't know how he did). Thome hasn't really been the offensive menace the Phils pictured him to be either. Just another classic example that one player doesn't lose ballgames, the team does. -

Ah, where to begin?
Its definately a team job with this one. David Bell SUCKS, he's batting .201. I don't know what the hell the Phillies were thinking when they signed this guy. They overpaid for him (3.5 million) because the market is so thin at 3B. An Average fielder at best (seen him blow some easy plays).
Jim Thome is starting to annoy me as well. Opposing teams always play the "shift" against him. So in crucial game situations where your down by a run and runners are on base, why don't you 1. Stop swinging from your heels EVERY pitch and 2. swing late and hit a routine ball to the 3B side, which will result in a double because of defensive positioning.
If it wasn't for Joe Kerrigan, this team would prob be with the mets, about 15 games out. The starting pitching has been fantastic for the most part. The middle relief portion of the bullpen has been average at best. Wendell and Comier have been pitching above their abilities. Mesa is terrible. Enough said.
Burrell.. well.. Its put up or shut up time for him. He's been pulling this crap for the whole time he's been in Philly. He's 25 or 26 now, how he's still prolonged to 2 months slumps is beyond me.
Bowa.. If you don't get this team turned around within the nexty month, I want your *** out of town and get Kerrigan in there.Comment

Re: Bowa,Phillies and Pat Burell
personally, i think Bowa needs to go...he already ran the best (arguably) player this franchise has seen in years outta town in Scott Rolen....doesnt seem St. Louis had any trouble resigning him...hmmmm......for that, and that alone, i would fire him..........then again im a Mets fan, and everyone knows we can fix every other teams problems but our own LOL....cheersComment
