They should trade him while he's been hitting hot and get something out of him. Why keep a guy your paying a big contract to when you could get some prospects or something for him who are going to make the league minnimum.

I agree. They have the best offense, and Sheffield is putting up monster numbers. But lets say they don't make a deal, and they loose the World Series to the Mariners. Sheffield leaves, and Braves have a gapping hole, the team is a year older, and they have nothing to show for hanging onto him. If they can get a decent guy to fill the void in the lineup, or maybe a top prospect, I say do it.
What if San Diego offered Rondel White, Wiki Gonzalez, and like Peter Stonard, Kris Morton, Daniel Moore, or even Tim Stauffer.
Would be interesting..Comment

Re: Sheffield to the...
Hmm... I'm thinking now about what the Padres may do, and it may or may not include Sheffield, they probably want to unload heavy payroll (Wiki Gonzalez, Kevin Jarvis), I think Rondell will be the sweetener because Phil's coming back sometime around August. I doubt it'll happen though because Wiki stinks and Jarvis hasn't done anything since 2001.Comment
