Pujos is not being over-looked, and anyone who follows baseball know what great numbers he is putting up. He is a really good player and people know that.

I don't see how you can say that Pujols has gone largely unnoticed? Anyone who is a fan of baseball knows that Albert Pujols has established himself as a Top 5 player in the game right now.

And he's nowhere close to third place.
Red.
and yet he is 4th! in allstar outfield voting.

Re: Despite numbers, Pujols isn\'t getting his just rewards
I think the point is, yeah baseball fans have heard about this guy, but he is not held in the same company as superstars such as Bonds and Sosa by the general public. It was a disgrace that half of the D-Backs made the all-star team last year and Pujols sat at home, and it is a disgrace that he is 4th in outfield voting this year. But, it is not only true baseball fans that vote for the a.s. game. There is no doubt that this kid is for real and he will get his awards.Comment

Re: Despite numbers, Pujols isn\'t getting his just rewards
He doesn't deserve to be held in the same company with Bonds or Sosa. Just look at the numbers that they have put up year in year out. Bonds is perhaps one of the greatest OF of all time. Sosa has tore the league apart the past 4 years. I'm not taking anything away from Pujols and his past three years. He is an awesome player. If he puts up the same numbers (which he probably will) for 5 more years, then yes put im in the same sentence with Bonds and Sosa.Comment

Re: Despite numbers, Pujols isn\'t getting his just rewards
You've got a good point, maybe I shouldn't have named names. But it does serve its point to say that is why Sosa and Bonds get more votes despite Sosa having an off year. It is the same reason people are voting for Piazza and IRod over Javy and Liberthal.Comment

Re: Despite numbers, Pujols isn\'t getting his just rewards
You have made a good point as well. I have come to the conclusion that All-Star Voting is just a popularity contest or should I say favorites contest. The majority of people vote for the "name" on the ballot, not who is most deserving.Comment
