the kid is solid. Remember how Nick Johnson started off last year and now we miss him dearly.

Nick Johnson had been making news for years before he got to the big show. He was suppose to be legit. You could tell he was eventually gonna come through and whatnot. Its just not there for Rivera. And I seriously doubt that he's a better defensive player than Trammell and Ruben. Some people will just never cut it and he's one of them.

Ruben Sierra is one of the worst defenders in the MLB, I bet rivera is a little better at defense. Hitting no comparsion however.

This is hilarious. Rivera was rated as the Yankee's number one prospect by Baseball America going into the season and you're saying he's not gonna cut it. Come on, give the kid a chance!!

the kid is solid. he isn't Vlad or whatever, but he'll end up being a better player than Ricky Ledee.

Oh, I remember the days of Ledee. The prospect everyone was waitin for in the late 90's. The One. The future.

What a shame. What a bust.

Ledee is almost as bad as Ruben Rivera, another great bust.

Juan Rivera has a lot goin for him.. Little pressure b/c he isn't expected to do much. And the kid is growin a lot of confidence. I have my reasons for why he has made some blunders on the field.

            1. He came into the league and looked scared. He was afraid to catch the ball and make a mistake.

            2. He grew some balls and started acting like Andrew Jones out there (in terms of confidence, not athleticism). I saw him gunnin throws into first, flashing some leather, etc.

            3. It's gone to his head and thinks he can play any ball like he's the Mayflower and the ball's Plymouth Rock.

            4. He'll learn from his mistakes and remember that his limited fielding wise. that coupled with confidence and Rivera will be a fine outfielder.

The kid is solid. Not great, but solid.

I'm not really a Yankee fan. But I'm glad to see Sierra is off to a good start in New York. Since he's joined them he's hit over .500 for them. I can't beleive Texas traded him away. I still think he has alot to offer in the DH role. But definately not the outfield, he's too old and slow now.
