(i have a new sign-on but its ferragamo from the old board)

im stil enjoying WSB every day (or 3 days) however,

i have a question re: player ratings.

im in FRANCHISE with ALL COACHES/SCOUTS options ON

are the player ratings (in this case NOMAR GARCIAPARRA)
based on my batting coach or actual ratings from years past?

I ask because NOMAR has a batting avg rating agaiinst RHP of only 63!!! where as his BAVG aganst LHP is 87 with an overall BAVG of 69??!! WTF??!! the guy has won batting titles in 99/2000. is that a programming error( a major one)
or is it the fact that my batting coach rating is an F? even still, why woul that affect NOMARs abilities?

I am not positive, but I think that is how your coach views him and not his actually ability.

get a good batting coach and you'll see WAY different numbers all across the board for all your players, the most important pontential, it makes a big difference

Yup. I didn't think batting coach affected how the ratings looked, however, but only if they went up/down during the year (or after). Scouts will affect how you see players though. A bad scout might see A-Rod rated overall at 82, and see a bad player rated just as high.
