Re: Slugfests better or pitcher duels? Take your vote!

I like seeing two pitchers really go at it. It's much more interesting to see how a manager actually, you know MANAGE a game where all the runs matter. It's always more intriguing to see a pitcher set up batters on a great sequence of pitches which is why I always enjoy watching Roy Halladay when he's on the mound for the Jays.

Slugfests are fine too but those games tend to drag out a bit with relievers coming into the game almost every inning or even during innings. I'd rather see a cohesive and fast moving game where there is more emphasis on "whoever scores first may ultimately win".

slugfests are cool if its like the padres vs. pirates where neither team really has a dominate pitcher. but if its like the cubs vs. the astros and prior/wood/zambrano/clement is on the mound against oswalt. or the d-backs with johnson and schilling against the dodgers with brown/perez/nomo/or dreifort when healthy then its cool to watch the pitchers.
      Teams:

      NFL - Packers & Browns
      MLB - Brewers & Twins
NCAA Football - Wisconsin, LSU, Virginia Tech
      Soccer - Arsenal, Wolverhampton
      NHL - Wild

I'd rather see pitchers duels, but I kinda like slugfests.

I totally agree. There isn't much strategy involved when both teams are tearing the cover off the baseball. And it makes each play that much more exciting when you know that one run could win the game.

And of course, pitchers duels are 100x more exciting in the National League, when there is real strategy involved
