You're a few days late but yeah, that was the most over the top, assinine walk off HR celebration i've ever seen. If Danny Darwin were still pitching today he'd probably plunk Fielder the next chance he got.

I hope home run celebrations dont start turning into what touchdown celebrations are in the NFL. I think its time for pitchers to start making batters rethink not wearing those David Wright space helmets if you know what I mean.

I have to agree w/the dookie. I love team celebrations. As long as it ain't the individual showing off, I have no problem w/it. People forget that its a game. Let people enjoy themselves & have fun. No one has a problem w/throwing the ball "around the horn" on a strike out. A pitcher pumping his fist on the third out. But celebrate a home run & suddenly you're disrespecting the game. If you want to know why youth are pushing away from baseball, here's one big reason. The baseball traditionalists are constipated. Stop taking any slight digression from decorum as the end of civilized society. Save that for Augusta.

Walk-off Home run, I think this celebration is fine. Game is over, who cares what he does. I like a celebration for a walk-off. You are at home, its for the fans, and its clutch.

I don't want to see this happen at any point during the game though.

The difference is that mobbing at the plate is a genuine release of energy and feeling happiness for winning the game in that fashion. This just looks like a premeditated celebration just to stroke Prince Fielder's ego.

Who cares if they're 10 games out? The players still want to have fun.
