Other than Smoltzie's blown save last night, they pitched great. Millwood held baseball's best offense to only one run, and then the rest of the bullpen shut 'em down. Spooneybarger is freakin' amazing, and Lightenberg is pitching like he did a few years ago.

They beat the amazing Schilling... Schilling the great... they know now that they can't beat anybody, anytime.

I just saw some stats on the Braves 3 man platoon at first base... .285, 18 homers, 60 something RBI. Not too bad. I think Matt Franco needs to play more than Julio... he hits everything thrown at him.

With Chipper and Gary regaining form, Furcal getting on base and scoring a ton of runs, and the pitching staff throwing like they have been...... I just don't see many teams out there that can beat the Braves in a best of 5 or 7 series.

I don't want to get over-confident in them, but they are playing the best baseball of anybody this season. Let's just hope it carries over to October.

Smoltz would have gotten the save without giving up any runs if the home plate ump would have had his eyes open on the 2 strike pitch to Durazo. The thing was right down the middle. Even the AZ broadcasters were saying they couldn't believe the call. I know it happens every day, but I wanted Smoltz to get the save.

They should continue their wins all year long as long as they stay healthy. One big injury changes their entire team.

thats a very good era, especially for a whole team average. Baseball has become a much higher scoring sport over the past few years.

Another gem last night by Glavine/Smoltz. The meltdown from the game before was quickly forgiven.

Good to see Furcal hitting again... and what is up with Julio Franco?!? The guy is dialed in.
