I went with Ted, mainly because he missed some of his prime years when he was serving in the military, but I think Bonds is definitely a close second... tough choice.

          Ty Cobb
          and
          I sent this to him

He won't win the poll but 90% of the people who voted never have seen the stats on baseballreference.com.

          All are AL rankings.

To get you started in 1911 he was #1 in the AL in every offensive stat except Walks, HRs 2nd, On-Base% 2nd by .001

Ty won the AL batting title 11 times from 1907-1919 the 2 times he didn't he was 2nd.

          1909-1919 was #1 in On-base% 7 times 2nd once 3rd twice.

He used his speed to grab extra bases thats why he was #1 in Slugging % from 1907-1912 1914 and 1917

People think he had no power because of what Ruth did but Ty played in a different era for most of his career. He actually won the Triple Crown in 1909. 2nd in HRs in 1907 1910 & 1911.

Ty probally stole more bases in a month that Ted did in his career (26) Ruth was +6 in Stolen Bases 123 SBs caught 117 times. Cobb was #1 in SBs in 1907, 1909, 1911, 1915, 1916, and 1917. Finished 2nd twice, 3rd Thrice, and 4th 4 times.

What is the worst thing a batter can do ? Strike Out. Cobb rarely Struk out on the other hand Ruth K'ed 1330 times in 8399 career ABs. Not an incredible amount by todays standards but you can only compare him to his peers which make him look a lot worse. Ruth was #1 in K's in the AL in 1918, 1923, 1924, 1927, 1928, and 2nd in 1919, 1920, 1921, 1922, 1925, 1926, and 1933.

In the end this is just about taking away Ruth votes and giving them to Cobb.

2 of the top 3 should be Ted and Ty.

Well the morons never read my mail.

                Ruth won and
Ty Cobb finished last and that is UTTER BS
I seem to remember Ty got more voting points for the Hall of Fame than Ruth did for the 1st induction.

I bet 90% of the voters are morons and don't know what team Cobb played for
