I think it was possible that Mickey Mantle hit a ball 600 feet. They say he was the most powerful baseball player, with huge forearms and big back.
Just read something interesting.

Ruth never called his shot. How do I know? At one time, my friend and I lived in the same town as Woody English, the starting 3B for the Cubs back then. Being baseball historians, we asked Woody about the "called shot." In summation, Woody said they were heckling Ruth from the dugout, and after the second strike, Ruth pointed to the dugout and said "that's only two." Then he hit the next pitch out.
The called shot is a neat myth, though...

Mantle hit the longest HR ever at the Astrodome, in the inaugural game (exhibition). It hit the base of the roof in CF and was easily close to 550 feet.
He definitely had the power to hit tape measure shots.Comment

" I look at him and it's getting to the point where it's just scaring me. He looks younger but he doesn't carry himself in a younger manner. He's impressive, and I'm glad we drafted him. "
