        The Yankees want the Twins.

No doubt we want the Twinkies, I have alot of pride in my Yankees, but I'd rather face the Twins. Detroit can cause problems in a short 5 game series. Baker vs Porcello in
"the Dome" I'll take Minny, their hot, their confident, and they're playing at home in front of a crowd that will be extremely electric, and I believe the rook "Porcello" will get knocked around and does not have the confidence in such a hostile environment. Not to mention it could be their last game in the Metrodome.

          GOOOOOOOOOO Twinnnnnssssssssssssss!!!!!

The guy who pitched today, unfortunately for Tigers fans.

Twins. I don't think either team gets out of the first round, though.

I was thinking, This series has kind-of a Disney-like storyline. Minnesota could be playing their very last game ever at the Metrodome. And Detroit, well they are faced with a city rallying behind them to bring some sort of hope to Detroit, a city that is reeling from a disastrous economy. Maybe not important, but fun intangibles thrown in there to provide an even more electric storyline to this already anticipated one game playoff.

The only more experienced Tigers starters I can think of are Robertson and Bonderman, but I'd give Porcello the ball before either of them right now.

I go Twins simply because of the Metrodome factor.

Yeah Porcello is the right guy to start here. He's probably their 2nd best pitcher at this moment, too.

I could personally care less who the Yankees face, I'm just happy the one game playoff is happening. We will miss Baker, he will only pitch once if they win. If the Tigers win, Porcello will only pitch once and we dont get Verlander in Game 1, we get him in Games 2 and hopefully thats the only time we see him cause we have ended their season early because he'd be lined up for a Game 5 start.

Rick Porcello is the best choice for the Tigers because he's best at keeping the ball on the ground so to limit guys from hitting many flyballs to our terrible fielding corner outfielders (Magglio Ordonez & Carlos Guillen). The only issue is that this game is being played at the Metrodome, and grounders hit at this place travel faster than normal because of the hard turf.

Ah i love this time of the year, NFL, MLB Playoffs... lets hope my twinkies come thru Tuesday, should be one hell of a game. hard to believe the twin's post seasons the last two years (this year and last) came down to a one game playoff..amazing how the twins are such an exciting team to watch for such a non big money team...i think thats why i like the twins so much..they dont spend a whole lot and rely on their great scouting personnel and always have good playing rosters along with the excitement they bring.

I dont watch a whole lot of regular season games..i do go to watch teams live at the stadium alot..have cubs season tickets, etc but regular season does not compare to the MLB playoff games. Tonight we got Vikes and Packers and tommorow we got Tigers and Twins...exciting time for Minnesota fans...i wish i was back living in St.Paul

I'd rather the Twins. Yankees have owned them in the past in the playoffs and this season. But either way I'm pretty confident, and I'm really glad the Twins at least kept the Tigers from being able to set up their rotation.

Was everyone really picking the Twins last year? Because if so, they shouldn't have been. Thanks to MLB's idiotic coin toss rule, the game was in Chicago, and the Twins were something like 2-7 in Chicago last year.

Now that MLB has wised up and given home-field to the team that won the season series, the Twins have to be favored this year, though. They've arguably been the better team throughout the season (they have the same record, but the Tigers have actually been outscored by their opponents by a run, whereas the Twins have outscored their opponents by 51), they've certainly been the better team the last three weeks, and they've got home-field, where they've done very well against the Tigers.

That being said, the Twins are the favorites, but they're something like a 55/45 favorite. There's still a very good chance for the Tigers to win this.
