    Softball bats

Anyone here play softball avidly and keep up with the new technology in aluminum bats?

I just got a good deal on a bat... didn't cost me nothing, it just was an even swap. Few years ago I was in a league that banned doublewalled bats... so I bough a $149 Demarini singlewall, worked well for about 3 years, still does... but NOW I play in two leagues, and one league permits doubles so now my single is obsolete. Dude I know plays in a sunday league, and I play on his team, and THAT league bans doublewalls, so now my bat is legal and the double that HE has is banned.. so we swapped. I gave him my $149 singlewall Demarini, and I got a Doublewall Demarini Distance out of the deal, like a $240 bat.

Our team has a bat called the "Miken"... sucker is LOADED.. it's so far been banned from every league and tournament in my area so far, and so far being put under the scope by all the softball associations in America.

I had no clue softball bats were that complicated.

Just wondering.. What length/weight bat do you use for softball?

Oh yeah, i just looked up the Miken Velocit-E Ultra II on Ebay... dude got it for $286 with "BUY IT NOW".. he's got disclaimers all over the add about not using it in co-ed leagues, and how this bat is only for serious ballplayers, since the reaction of the ball off the bat is almost too fast for people to fend off, let alone field cleanly..

I think the guy was exaggerating a little, but i WILL vouch that this bat is definitely loaded.. seen a guy crush a softball 370' with it two nights ago.

My single wall was 34", 30 oz., but the doublewall I just swapped for is 34" 28 oz.

Dude, softball bats now adays got weights in them to make them end-heavy, magnets in the handle for various purposes (not quite sure what effects myself, honestly)... I've even seen some odd-*** bats.. one had a 1" section in the middle that was rubber, and the bat would actually bend on contact and spring back to straight and shoot a ball off, didn't pan out well... neither did the one with the extending barrel... that had to have been one of the worst inventions... LOL

Hey, I usually use a 34-30oz Worth gold est and hit em around 315 feet, I got a chance to use a miken ultra II at a tournament last weekend and hit a ball about 360 feet. I am a pretty big guy. 6-1 210 But that bat is sick. Also if you get a chance try the synergy bat from easton. That bat might be even better than the miken believe it or not.

                      Roster Update please

Does anyone have (or know where I can find) a decent roster update for ASB 2004? (PS2) I would greatly appreciate any help or feedback. Thanks
