No...I'm not. No Vlad Guerrero? Absolutely criminal...glad Raines finally got in as that is LONG overdue, but I'd take Vlad over Pudge.

I agree, but he's right on the verge, I'm not worried at all about him getting in.

I'm surprised Pudge got in with the steroid suspicion cloud over him.

I think it speaks to the how the voting body is changing (their stance and who is actually voting). They are starting to soften their stances on multiple issues (PEDs and the DH). The biggest surprises to me are that Edgar took the biggest jump and that Clemens got more votes than Bonds.

Bagwell and Piazza had that suspicion too, times are definitely changing.

Right but those guys were on the ballot 7 and 4 years respectively before finally getting elected.

Yea, it used to piss me off they make guys wait, and I still think it's stupid reasoning, but Vlad will be in. His first year, and he's right there.

At least the thinking has changed.

Pudge might be the best defensive catcher of all time, so I'm good with him getting in right off the bat.

The voting body is changing. As the panel is talking about on MLB-N it seems like the current voting body is going to make the PED guys sweat it out and wait 8-9 years. At least Tom Verducci is a lot like me and has a hard line stance on this issue.

As for Vlad, he and Hoffman are definitely getting in next year. The one name that shocks me is Posada being getting eliminated off the ballot. The man was one of the better offensive catchers of his generation and all time as well. He was also a member of the "core four" of those Yankees championship teams. You'd think he'd hang on in the ballot.

I can understand why the waits happened though. You have the guys that won't ever vote a guy in on his first ballot, the guys (like Pedro Gomez and Tom Verducci) who will never vote for the PED guys. I've stated my stance on the PED guys many times. I would vote for the ones I think would have been just as good even without using PEDs. My ballot this year probably would have been Bonds, Manny, Pudge, Guerrero, Bagwell as my guarantees. Then I would have to do more research/thinking on guys like Hoffman, Kent, Wagner, Raines, Clemens, Mussina, Posada (I think it's criminal he fell off the ballot and deserves more consideration), Edgar, Schilling.

He is another victim of the 10 player limit. Ala Jim Edmonds, Bernie Williams. I'm willing to bet that if there was no limit he would've been at least 25% of ballots out there.

In a shocking stat, Pudge is the first former Tigers player to be elected to the Hall of Fame since Al Kaline.
