Re: Hall Of Fame: Yes Or No?

Just read the article on ESPN by Crasnick, the HOF voting is beyond terrible now.

Biggio, Piazza, Bagwell, and then lets get into the freaking greatest of greats Clemens and Bonds.

I'm just baffled at the voting. I mean, why bother at this point?
    7 National Championships
    43 Conference Championships
    152 All-Americans
    5 Heisman Trophy Winners

#1 in weeks ranked top 5 in AP Poll

Waching Houston for 10 years, Bagwell was a definate suspect in Roiding. That dude got to huge way to quick and then was alwats shutting the media out here in Houston. He was a hometown legend but to me I would not consider him a HOF candidate. Biggio on the other hand I would vote in. Guy busted his *** for years and went from playing Catcher to infield to outfield. Amazing player who didnt always put up huge numbers but was all about the game
      atleast..Its not Delaware

Jeff Kent is on the ballot for the first time. I hope he doesn't get stuck in the 10-15% grouping. Only Hornsby had more RBI at 2nd than Kent. Poor defense might hurt his case. Not a first ballot guy but hopefully he gets in eventually.

What pisses me off is the guy that refuses to vote for anyone from the Steroid Era. I hate what the Hall of Fame voting process has become. It makes me want to go on a profanity laced tirade.

                "sigh"

I'm a Morris supporter but when my support is lumped in with idiots like this it makes me feel sad.

I can understand not voting for the guys who've been implicated/outed but to not vote anyone from the Steroid Era is just going too far.

saw this scroll across my twitter stream

Greg Maddux and Jack Morris played in the MLB at the same time for 9 years. Same era.

Jack Morris had some of the best years of his career in the late 80s/early 90s which was around the time the steroid era started.

It's not the ERA that he played in that is the problem it's the fact that Jack Morris is not a Hall of Fame Pitcher. He has a career ERA of 3.9 which is not Hall of Fame worthy. He's never finished higher than 3rd in a CY Young Award vote and despite Pitching 18 Years he was unable to top 2500 Career strikeouts. The fact that his WAR is 43.8 should close the case right there but I know many people don't like Sabermetrics

At best he is the Hall of Very Good but even then it is a close call
