Nats turned down Valentine. Unless you don't count him as 'good'.http://flotn.blogspot.com

Re: Source: Riggleman to manage Nats
They asked to speak with Don Mattingly but Mattingly turned them down. Lets face it, the Nats job is probably one of if not the least deisrable in all of Baseball.
The played decent under Riggleman so at least give him the benefit of the doubt but if they don't spend some money and get a real pitching staff it won't matter who the manager is because they will be bad one way or the other.Last edited by rsox; 11-12-2009, 07:09 PM.Comment

I thought there was a rule that you couldn't pick in the same spot two years in a row?
Interesting. Well, congrats to the Nats for getting two franchise players. Be a scary team in about 2 years.Too Old To Game Club

I plan on showing up to Harper's introductory press conference in god awful heat. I did it with Strasburg and you can actually see my pasty complexion in the AP video.Comment

Re: Source: Riggleman to manage Nats
There was a rule where it alternated from AL to NL like the World Series, but that was changed several years ago."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace
