I wonder what Dusty Baker thinks about Dontrelle

now, after he finally got to see him pitch today.

    5 2/3 scoreless innings, with only 4 hits, 7 K's and 2 BB's

    Not too bad, ay Dusty?

P.S. He would have picked up the victory too, if it hadn't rained.

He might not have picked up the victory. Carlos Zambrano was matching scoreless inning for scoreless inning with Willis up until the delay. Willis was in trouble at the time they stopped the game. Runners were on 1st and 3rd.

rvd2kewl, before I proceed, I apologize as this is my irritated Cubs fan response:

rvd2kewl, hellooo, this is the Cubs we're talking about. This is the team that fails to drive in runners in scoring position. Willis was in fine shape with anybody coming up to the plate. He could have gone all nine without the rain delay and pitched a shut out.

I am glad that now Baker had a chance to finally "see" Willis pitch. I really felt bad though that Lowell couldn't hit a home run along with Rodriguez to make Hendry look like a *******.

Want to really know what he thinks of Willis? :

Mike Berardino of The South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports Chicago Cubs manager Dusty Baker got his first look at Florida Marlins pitcher Dontrelle Willis, whom he omitted from his All-Star selections Sunday, in part because he had never seen him live. "My first impression is he has an old-style delivery and windup," Baker said. "He kicks high and sort of slings the ball at you."

                      And there you go.
