Pirates extend Lloyd McClendon through 2004
The Pirates have announced they have extended Lloyd McClendon's contract through the 2004 season with a club option for 2005. Dave Littlefield stated that he feels McClendon has done a fine job and dose not blame him for the 40-48 record so far. Of course, it helps that no team has been able to pull away in the dividion, leaving the Battling Bucs just 6 1/2 games out.Tags: None -

I'm glad they finally did something. The team hasn't been that bad this year, and Mac hasn't been as infuriating this year. He's done things like leave Suppan in yesterday. Last year, he would have gone to Williams (of course, last year, Williams didn't suck either).“In my lifetime, we've gone from Eisenhower to George W. Bush. We've gone from John F. Kennedy to Al Gore. If this is evolution, I believe that in twelve years, we'll be voting for plants.” - Lewis Black -

Re: Pirates extend Lloyd McClendon through 2004
It's sometimes a double-edged sword. I just hate when he pulls a guy who's only thrown 80 pitches.
Of course, he DID leave Suppan in for the game against Milwaukee......“In my lifetime, we've gone from Eisenhower to George W. Bush. We've gone from John F. Kennedy to Al Gore. If this is evolution, I believe that in twelve years, we'll be voting for plants.” - Lewis BlackComment
