It's because of Japan. Japanese people love their baseball players. Same with China and NBA All Star game, Yao Ming got voted over Shaq to start cause everyone in China that has a computer voted for him.

I think Matsui deserves to be in there. His numbers aren't that terrible. But then again, there are better selections out there that could have taken his place.
