Hardly. If players on his own team don't get pissed at him for doing it in games that count, then why would a bunch of guys he plays with once a year give 2 piles of beetle dung?
I really dislike this little experiment. To me, it is nothing more than a ratings ploy. I feel that the All-Star game definitely needed a kick in the pants, but this isn't the way to go about it.
What if players, in trying to play oh so hard to get that homefield advantage for their team get hurt?
Also, the thought of some scrub from Detroit, Milwaukee, Pittsburgh or one of the weak teams deciding who gets homefield advantage in games they will never play in just irks me. It is almost laughable.
Man, the way baseball is headed, its really a shame that Charlie O Finley is dead. He would have been right at home in today's game, with his day-glo orange balls, amongst other things.
