    firing/hiring coaches in wsb

i haven't finished a full season on franchise yet, but i was just curious what the odds were of me getting a shot at hiring a good coach in the off-season if i don't renew a contract. Will there be a whole new pool to choose from, or will I be looking at a bunch of leftovers from the initial draft?

There will be some good picks, and it's much easier to get a good coach since you don't have to pick a coach for every position like when you started the franchise.

Funny thing, the best coach, that I hired in my Yankee franchise, was named Terry Crouch.

You actually have a good chance. Other teams drop their coaches as well when they are low on cash so they can sign better players. Just be careful though. Sometimes getting the best coach can ruin your chances of aquiring that one free agent you so desperatly needed.

For example: I play as the Rangers. I have one franchise I sim, and the other I play. In the simming chise, I decided to go after a very high priced pitching coach, not really paying attention to my bank balance. Turns out, that I lost my best pitchers because they didn't want to resign with me. So when it came to signing players, I had to sign some young guys with potential that weren't rated very well. It took me 12 seasons to finally build the Rangers into World Series Champs. Then another 3 years after (players left my team after winning. Loyalty will play a big part in this section), I won my second World Series. I had to learn how to budget the salary. I won Thrifty Spending Award as a GM for several years. Then during the first World Series run, my profit started to increase. So after the World Series, I went on a spending spree. Now after my second World Series run, I am back to being one of the worst teams because I wasn't frugal enough.
