Re: Is anyone playing HH?
Let me just put into perspective how I felt about HH2003 this year by saying this.....I was so repulsed by this game that I even deleted a downloaded ISO of this game off my system.
I have been playing ASB and have not yet found a substitute for it......not even WSB.

HH Heast was and is a good game, it just didn't have the anticipation that ASB and WSB did. I can't wait to see what they change next year though. Hopefully a major graphics upgrade and franchise mode.My Fan Page http://theusualgamer.net/MyFanPage_Heelfan71.aspx

Re: Is anyone playing HH?
HH 2003 PC superior to ASB???......not even close! HH was a great concept when it took the world by storm when it first made it's debut on the PC but these last few versions have been stale to the core my good man....stale!
Fundamentaly it plays a very sound yet dry game of baseball with a very overrated batter/pitcher interface that leaves most of the excitement left to heavy statistical outcome and at times can even hold my attention but it's no longer innovative and it's decayed engine has seen it's prime like a 40 year old veteran All Star catcher.
ASB is nothing about correct batting gloves and facial expressions. ASB is about picking up the baseball feeling where HH left off....ASB is baseball. Not perfect baseball but the closest thing we got right now that does a little of everything.
High Heat was once king of the hill but did nothing to hold onto it. Right now it's nothing more than brilliant mind trapped in the body of a disfigured child.
Sad but true....at least for the PCComment

Re: Is anyone playing HH?
I strongly disagree with DF, but then again that's why we all have our own opinions.
I happen to love High Heat 2003 for the PC, but I seem to be in a minority. That's also fine with me too. I really enjoy the ability to customize the game to my very liking and download the most up-to-date rosters that include the real minor league players as well.
I prefer high heat's gameplay over any other game on the market, even if it has grown stale to some.
This is by no means a knock on the other games, I'm just stating the I prefer my High Heat over the rest.
I gotta admit though, Midway's Slugfest 20-03 has been getting some stick-time lately. That game is a blast to play.

Re: Is anyone playing HH?
Dark Fudge just officially christened the board with the first ASB vs HH debate.
HH2003 for the PS2 was better than 2002 but as with all games there is only so much they can change, so to a certain extent after playing around 100 games and with other games coming out, I moved on. I don't know if stale is the right word, more like familiar.Comment

Re: Is anyone playing HH?
Yeah HH2003 PS2 is great! Put the game on fastest mode and you can finish a game in like 20 minutes. The pitches actually break like they do in real life, and you can draw walks!!! what a concept!! Granted its no WSB or ASB in terms of graphics, but its not that bad. I love the game and can't wait for HH2004 to come out. Anyone know if they are doing an XBOX version next year?Comment
