My favorite card is the 1984 Topps Robin Yount a had signed. No idea what it's worth, but it doesn't matter because I'm never selling it. My collection will someday be handed down to my son, who is 9 now.

My favorite sets are (all Topps) 1987 (love the woodgrain background), 2009 (Nice return to form after some iffy years), and 1968 (Don't have this set yet, but I love the design).
I agree. The Topps 1987 was my favorite set, and I put 2 of them together by hand. I have about 5,000 of those cards in a basement in NY somewhere. LOL..

it was a great year for cards. Not counting the 86 traded set, you had rookie cards for Bonds, Will Clark, McGwire, (first A's card) Incaviglia, Bo Jackson. It was cool because it had future stars cards, record breaker cards, All-Star cards, and turn back the clock cards.

I have a 1973 Mike Schmidt rookie card, but it's not in perfect condition. I also have a couple of McGwire Olympic rookies, Griffey's 89 Upper Deck rookie, and assorted Bonds and Maddux rookies.

God, I miss collecting. Brings back great memories.

Yeah, that was a good set. I think '87 Topps was one of the first wax boxes I ever bought. I also have all the cards you mentioned for that set.

Its funny you mention it as I used to sit here and watch Chris pop boxes on youtube all the time. Those 3 boxes of Leaf were amazing, between the patch logo, the AD auto and the Barry Sanders auto, the guy got his moneys worth thats for sure.

EDIT- Wow, that triple logoman card of Jordan/Bird/Magic was incredible. Thats the type of card people pray they can find so thats a hell of a pull. Here is the closest completed auction I can find, its for a triple logoman of Lebron/Durant/Garnett and it sold for 2,650.00 so if he sells he should get atleast that if not more...

Check this one out, dual logoman of Lebron and Kobe but its also autographed and it sold for 14,600.00 a few weeks ago.

Sorry, I know this thread is for baseball cards but its still sports cards so figured it was alright to post.

How much do those Exquisite boxes cost? Seems like the chances of making a profit are high.

I think the Logoman he pulled was around 10k+. I would guess its a lot more valuable than the Kobe/Lebron one but since its signed it probably pushed it over the top.

Not sure as the guy I used to get my cards from doesnt have them anymore and isnt sure on a price but dont be fooled by the huge sales figures as those cards are 1/1 so there are no others out there which drives the prices insanely high. Pulling a 1/1 is rare and tough to do unless your willing to spend big bucks on a high end product and even then not every 1/1 is really valuable like those shown here.

I kinda want to start a collection of my own...my one uncle has collected for years on end and has boxes and boxes full. He has several high profile rookie cards (Jeter, Manny, etc.) but gave some to my cousin who probably lost them already. I'd like to get my hands on a Wieters as they're going sort of cheap right now, and IMO they'll balloon in value after his career is over with.

I may get back into collecting baseball cards again. It's been too long, for about 12 years I collected them. I just stopped doing it. I guess because the demand is just not high down here, and no one really sells them, but man I really miss it, I used to buy baseball, basketball, and football cards all the time and trade with my friends. I have some pretty good one's too ie...Ken Griffey Jr rookie, Frank Thomas, Mark Texeira, Arod, Pujols, Manny, all rookies too.
